Trip Overview

Whale sharks and deep blue walls in North Sulawesi Body: Gorontalo sits on the Tomini Bay coast of North Sulawesi, Indonesia. Whale sharks are often seen close to shore here, and the reef walls drop straight into deep blue water. Sightings depend on the animals and are never guaranteed.

We fly out from Kuala Lumpur together on Tuesday night, start diving on Wednesday afternoon and do 3 dives a day for the next three days. Sunday is a free day to rest or explore before we fly home on Monday.

• Day 1 · Tue 19 Jan: Travel day

  • Meet at KLIA

  • 10:35 PM: Fly Kuala Lumpur (KUL) → Jakarta (CGK)

  • 11:45 PM: Land in Jakarta, check in to the airport transit hotel

• Day 2 · Wed 20 Jan: Arrive Gorontalo + 2 dives

  • 4:55 AM: Fly Jakarta (CGK) → Gorontalo (GTO), Garuda GA-644

  • 9:00 AM: Land in Gorontalo, transfer to hotel and check in

  • Lunch, then 2 afternoon dives
